Critical Link 8 is offering up to three conference scholarships for students or early career researchers (defined as persons who are within 2 years of PhD completion) who have had a paper or poster accepted for the Critical Link 8 Conference in 2016 and who would otherwise be unable to attend. The scholarships cover up to £1,000 (one thousand pounds sterling maximum) of costs: this includes the conference fee, on campus accommodation and a grant towards travel. Critical Link 8 does not provide subsidies for any additional living expenses during travel or when the sponsored scholar is at the conference, but lunches are included in the conference fee.
Applicants should have submitted an abstract in the usual way and have received confirmation that their proposal has been accepted as a paper or poster. In addition, scholarship applicants must complete an application form which will include a short paragraph explaining why they should be considered for an award, as well as full contact details for two referees who will be willing to provide references, if contacted.
A number of bursaries funded by sponsors (e.g. towards travel or covering the cost of conference fees) may also become available in due course. These will be announced on the website and on social media.
Only one award of funding support can be made to any individual.

The application form must be completed and submitted by 1st March (by midnight GMT) by email to:
